Telehealth

WE’LL BE THERE FOR YOU.

We offer remote telephone or video sessions if coming into the office isn’t for you.

We offer telehealth sessions to allow ease of accessing care one less thing to worry about. Through virtual therapy sessions, you can meet your therapist from the comfort of your own home, in your pajamas, where you feel safe and supported.

Our clinicians are available for telephone and video sessions to provide the most supportive and customized sessions for you and your family, as we have always done, but now with remote access. We hope that you are doing what you can for yourselves and those in your life to stay safe and healthy.

Accessing Your Telehealth Appointment

Once you have scheduled a telehealth appointment with your clinician, you can access your appointment through our secure client portal.

FAQ

  1. Do I have access to the portal?

    • You have access to the portal if you have completed intake documents prior to your first session with us. If you think you may have accessed the portal previously, you can choose “Forgot Password” on the login page, enter your email and reset your password. If you find that you do not have access to the portal, please contact your clinician or our front desk.

  2. What is my login information?

    • Your email is the primary email that you gave to our team members when you started your journey with us at Blackhawk Family Development Center. You have the ability to reset your password from the login page if you are having trouble remembering your password! Feel free to contact our office should the issue persist, and we can reset your password for you.

  3. Can I use my phone for the video session?

    • Yes! You can use your tablet or smartphone to access the video telehealth session. Please download the app “Telehealth by SimplePractice” prior to your session, as the HIPAA compliant video will populate in the app after clicking the link in your client portal. If using a laptop or desktop computer, no app is necessary – the video will populate in a new window or tab on your screen.

  4. How do I join the telehealth session?

    • After logging in, choose the “Appointments” tab at the top of the screen. The tab will show you the day and time of the appointment scheduled for telehealth. On the right side of the appointment box, choose the “Join Video” link. If accessing on a smartphone or tablet, you will need to have the Telehealth by Simple Practice app downloaded. If accessing from a computer, the link will open a new tab or window for the video session.

When you’re ready to get started, the process is easy.

Telehealth 5 Convenient Ways to Access CareWe understand that reaching out for support can feel like a big step—and we’re here to make that first step as smooth and stress-free as possible. Whether you’re new to therapy or returning after time away, we’ve designed a simple and welcoming process to help you begin.

As a new client, you can use our Book Now option below to view our clinicians’ profiles, explore their areas of expertise, and check their availability in real time. This gives you the opportunity to choose a provider who feels like the right fit for your unique needs and preferences. We encourage you to read through bios and consider the therapeutic approach and background that best align with your goals.

You can choose between two session types. A full session lasts 50 minutes and is ideal for in-depth conversations and ongoing support. A half session is 25 minutes in duration and may work well for shorter, focused check-ins or maintenance work. Once your clinician and session type are selected, you’ll choose your preferred format: in-person at our Danville office or virtual through our secure online platform.

Can our clinicians help?

Yes, they absolutely can. Our team includes clinicians with diverse personal and professional experiences. We have both associate therapists—who work under the supervision of a licensed clinician—and fully licensed therapists, each offering evidence-based care tailored to your needs.

We support clients across the lifespan, from ages 3 to 83, offering individual therapy for children, teens, and adults, along with family and couples therapy.

Important Note About Emergency Services
Our clinicians are not able to provide emergency or crisis intervention services for new clients. If you or your child is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately. Your safety is our highest priority.
