LICENSED marriage and family therapist
Amanda is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with experience in a variety of therapeutic settings. She earned her Bachelor’s in Arts from California State University, Sacramento and went on to earn her Master’s in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Phoenix in Livermore, CA.
During her career, Amanda has worked with children and adolescents from diverse backgrounds. Her experience includes providing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA Therapy) to children on the autism spectrum, counseling in a residential facility for adolescents with eating disorders, and working with underserved children and families within the K-12 school systems.
Amanda’s approach to therapy is warm and genuine. She takes joy in working closely with clients and families to identify strategies to improve their quality of life. Amanda practices from a strength-based and attachment perspective, but utilizes a variety of therapeutic techniques tailored to the client’s specific needs. She especially enjoys developing a strong therapeutic alliance with clients to help them feel safe enough to work through symptoms of trauma, depression, and anxiety. Amanda highly values collaborating with her client’s teachers, school, and other health care providers to support the client in a holistic way.
In her spare time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her two children and dog Phillip. Her favorite way to unwind is through painting, being active, and enjoying good food with friends and family.
